Catching the Spirit Youth Society

Outdoor Experiences for Youth

June 2012

By Lisa, Burnaby Lake Peer Leader

On Saturday morning, I woke up excited for our Catching the Spirit overnight leadership training; a weekend of team-building, new friendships and magical nature moments. On Sunday, I left Capilano River regional park with more excitement, more unforgettable memories, and higher expectations for the summer than I had ever imagined.

We are looking forward to another fabulous year!  Thanks to each of you for all the support.

In-Park Leadership

Though each year changes slightly, the spirit of CTS – love of the outdoors and a passion for action – remains the same.

Our October 2012 newsletter has an update from Sandra, our new program director, some upcoming events for CTS youth, and updates on September's events. We are also asking for CTS youth to participate in the What's CTS to YOU contest. Check it out!

Peer Leaders, training, Pacific Spirit, Catching the Spirit

Pacific Spirit In-Park Leadership training went super well. Had some amazing group conversations and one on one debriefs! Rain came on Saturday, but so did sun on Sunday! Tent flies are dry!!!! Park Ops - Laura and Ron were super awesome. We had a 'get to know each other' convo in the bog. Rob came by later on to drop off some gravel for the campsite. Black book is a hit. Meals were creative!!
