Catching the Spirit Youth Society

Outdoor Experiences for Youth

Welcome to the CTS Blog

Welcome to your blog.  This is a space where you can learn about upcoming events, connect with the CTS leadership council, and share your ideas about what CTS means to you.  There’s a place for you to add your comments about our programs, and a calendar of upcoming events.  Peer leaders from each of our camps will be able to post here and share what’s important to them.  Interested in contributing?  Speak to a peer leader, your youth leadership council, or simply email your thoughts to

This is your space.  It should become what you want it to be.  But here are a few ideas about topics you might write about, just to get you started:

Your CTS story.  Everyone has a unique CTS experience.  Share yours.  Comment on the experience of others.
Your community.  Share your ideas about how to make a positive change.  Is there an event you think CTS youth should know about?  a great way to get together and have fun while doing something good?  Together, you and your CTS peers can make a difference.
Your comments.  CTS is your program.  Make it what you want it to be. Share with other CTS youth your ideas about what is great, and how you can work together to make it better.

Write your thoughts or give us a  link to a video you’ve posted to YouTube.  This is YOUR space.  We know you will make it into something special

Welcome Fiona - CTS New Program Coordinator!

Hey CTSer's

Here is an opportunity to apply for an Environmental leadership Award - application now being accepted for the Dr. M. Wosk Environmental Leadership Award.

The Dr. M. Wosk Environmental Leadership Award was established by the Pacific Parklands Foundation for the development of youth leadership in 2006. The leadership fund is used to engage, train and empower today’s youth with the skills necessary for the future sustainability of our spectacular city and regional parks.

Thanks to MEC for all the support this summer and over the years. This past weekend was our last for this summer and the gear MEC provided CTS has been super awesome and very timely.  After 15+ years - our first donation and purchase of MEC Tarn 3 tents in 2001/2002 are finally wearing out. Not bad for tents that have supported over 3000 youth connect with nature in our Regional Parks, through rain, snow and many starry nights of camp fun.

Check out our new camp gear thanks to the generous donation by MEC! Support that has hellped over 300 youth attend camp, connect with nature and meet new friends.

CTS Just had a few spaces open at our Pacific Spirit camp for this weekend!  Last chance to go to camp, meet new friends and have some fun!
